good morning paris

tried to blog last night after our long travel day...just couldn't make it happen...so here we are...it is early Saturday morning and the streets are dark...the city is slower to wake today...

we had a good trip over...there was a little one who was very loud and struggled for the entire 7.5 hour trip..felt bad for his mother...we noticed him in the airport and i found myself hoping that he would be be in the other end of the plane.  When we got on ginny heard him and said she would pray for those sitting near him....turns out she was praying for us!

when the sun rose Friday morning we were approaching the coast of ireland...great sights...upon our approach to the coast of the netherlands  i was suprised to see windmills in the middle of the ocean...huge windmills like the ones at home (rose creek and adams)...so weird to she them out there...

we had a two hour layover in Amsterdam...

Thank you for the masks Rita.

i discovered paprika flavored potato chips inthe amsterdam airport...hope to eat more of them on this trip...

We arrived in Paris mid afternoon...we took the train into the city...i was amazed at the graffiti...truy every inch of wall space covered for miles and miles...we arrived in the heart of the city for a train change and struggled with the crowds to get off the train...very distressing for me...we made it off with the help of several frustrated commuters...was relieved to get on the second less busy train...looking forward to getting back on the metro today without the luggage :)...

We are staying in Bercy...we came up from the train station and I felt like we had finaly arrived...a short walk to our hotel from the stop.  We are satying at a Kyriad in Bercy Village...After settling in we went out for something to eat...parts of the neighborhood are decorated for christmas....

We ate at a little cafe....the food photo taking has begun....looking forward to bagettes and cheese as we venture out this morning...oh the sights we will see today...will check in again this evening.

  1. Oh, I am so happy to see that you survived the plane trip. I remember many a flight sitting next to an unhappy mini traveler. Thanks for posting the pic of the masks. Looking forward to your next post. Rita

  3. I hope that Virginia packed her pajamas also. Personally, I've given up on packing light although it is a good idea. Regarding the flight, I remember a flight attendant asking if I had a good flight and thinking "you gotta be kidding." But hey, even a bad flight gets you to Paris.

Regarding the comment up above, who is r herreid, and why is he commenting while using my photo?
