oh God...i am ready for this trip...i am beside myself with anticipation. i find myself day dreaming about packing lists...walking the streets of paris...train stations...french bread...cheese...and people...i am really looking forward to meeting people...watching people. heck i am looking forward to 16 days with gin...my work life has been a little fierce and i have to say that i am missing her...seems strange to say that i am missing someone that i see everyday...but it is true...my schedule is brutal and we are in need of real time...
gin and i are committed to packing light. i announced at a table of colleagues and students that we are each taking ONE bag and a back back...ONE medium sized bag and a back pack for 16 days of travel...people (the women) were blown away at the thought...the goal is to pack with room to acquire treasures as we travel...i am up for the challenge...have been googling tips for travel and packing...gin is a pro...
we leave the 19th...we fly to amsterdam and then on to paris...after three days in paris we take the train to avignon (southern france)...we are there for two nights and then off to nice for three days. we will stop in monoco on our way to the italian riviera (santa margarita and cinque terre)... will spend three days there before heading to venice (three days) and then on to rome (three more)...on day 16 we fly home...
