we had half a day in the city before leaving for portugal...we checked out and stowed out luggage...the sun is our for the first time and we are eager to enjoy it....along the way we found this lovely lady...
with a few hours we found ourselves in an award winning pizza place...a photo op while we waited...
gin and our prize pizza...was very good...
a quick return to catalunya square to...many fountains...
and hundreds of pigeons....

along came a bird lady....she had tons of bird seed...created a frenzy...
"a foaming frothy tumult of feathers-wings, tails, beaks, eyes, claws--shimmering grey, white, beige, luminescent, rose/green--whirring, whirling, settling, rising and settling again--the sound of it fluttered in our hair" (ginny's contribution to the blog)
our winning one armed couple shot for barcelona...
one last stroll down las ramblas...a few items to purchase and more live statutes for ginny...
i give in...
yet again...
a favorite stop...purchased chocolate here for my girls....
one last dash to la boqueria...can not resist taking more photos...
takes a while to find the spice vendor (sweet paprika for my paella)...gin has us double back to get more seafood shots...
when i pass this wall of numminess i think of the littles in my life...
a beautiful city...interesting and hospitable people...and dozens of new memories generated and already cherished...the travel/flight to portugal is full reminiscing and expectation for what is to come...
