winning ticket

several months ago, when we were told that ginny's cancer was awake, our doctor told us we were in for a fight.  the hormone treatment we chose (one of two options) was said to have a 1 in 4 chance of working (stopping growth).  i told ginny that if i knew i had a 1 in 4 chance of winning the lottery that i would by a ticket.  well our miss ginny bought herself winner!

the treatment has stopped the growth of the cancer. the lesions in the lungs and the tumors in her abdomen have not grown since january.  we are ecstatic!  there is a palpable shift in emotional weight.  it is a massive relief as we enter the spring and summer. we do not have to return to mayo for 3 months :)!

so we are kicking it in to high gear and taking advantage of this gift of time...i have one more week of college classes and four weeks left at the high school...after a few trips for work, ginny and i are boarding a jet plane...europe here we come!

just a quick update. ginny's next appointment is friday april 29th.  she will have a ct scan and blood work in the morning and we will meet with dr. peethambarum in the afternoon (3:30). it has been a few months since the docs took a look at the masses in gin's abdomen.  we are curious to know what the little monsters have been up to. gin has continued to take her hormone medication daily and is successfully managing her blood clots.  we are hopeful.  we will post as soon as we know more...
